These girls are being mean?

I'm all for standing out and being different then everyone else.
These girls or the 'cool girls' who have all the clothes, boys, make-up, beauty and figure etc.
They all kept giving me mucky looks and what not a started calling me 'mono-brow' 'ugly duckling' I ignored them.
They kept being like this on msn and myspace etc.
So I went up to them face to face and said 'sorry do you have a problem?'
and they just laughed and walked away and kept giving me the mucky looks.
I wore a hippie head band to be different from the dead straight hair etc and they kept calling me 'indie wannabe' and 'hippie'
They do this all the time and take the mik out of me because I listen to david bowie and joy division and most indie bands and I wear stuff people wouldn't and do things that people wouldn't.
I just need some advice thanks.
